From humble beginnings as a three man shop operating from a horse barn in Barrie Ontario, Barrie Welding & Machine Ltd. has grown to be one of the largest jobbing shops' in Ontario, employing over 180 skilled people in a 200 000 sq. ft facility. "Barrie Welding" or "BWM" as it is known in the short has always been a service based company, and as such the owners are eager to develop the services available to their customers. Barrie Welding improved and enlarged its base services of welding and machining to include a large press repair facility, CNC machine shop, Automation house, coil handling technology department, and design department. Barrie Welding is Cerified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) and International Standards Board to ISO 9002 certification have been achieved by Barrie Welding to better serve its customers.

Barrie Welding & Machines' CNC and Conventional machining departments offer large vertical and horizontal boring mills, large lathes, machining centers (one with 5 axis), Blanchard grinders, cylindrical grinders, small mills and lathes. The machine shops are serviced by overhead cranes and supported by a complete selection of calibrated measuring equipment including a co-ordinate measuring system with full digitizing capabilities.

Barrie Welding warehouse is equipped with saws, torch table and plasma cutter to provide custom cutting of materials.

Press & Heavy Equipment Repair

Barrie Welding's press repair department provides millwright services for retrofits to brakes and clutches, rebuilt components from rams and bull-gears to gibs and bushings, electrical control systems, hydraulic systems, custom built hydraulic nuts, and lube systems, or complete rebuilds from the ground up. Onsite service calls and millwright services available using our own equipment from hydraulic jacks and gantries to fork lifts and stick booms. Design, construction and install of die-transfer equipment such as powered or manual roll in bolsters and clamping systems.
